Where is this going?

Good question....I need one more piece to focus on for my article. This may be it! I love the warmth of this yellow watercolor background and the beauty of this huge flower. It makes me think of strength and resilience. I'm going to really get into this journey. Stay tuned.....

Saturday is Stitch Day

Yeah!! It is Saturday once again and you know how I live for the weekends! Lots of great ideas are racing through my head right now and I'm creating an article that I will submit to a couple of magazines for submission along with my finished pieces of Scrap Wisdom Collage journal quilts. I'm glad I am finally back at the sewing machine(s) as I have been away from them for way too long. The best part of what I am playing with right now is re-using collages in different colors and formats thanks to Photoshop Elements. I could create an entire series of the same image in various color schemes kind of like Warhol. I had better go write all these ideas down before I forget them all! Have a great weekend!!

It's All Attitude

I constantly have to remind myself that a positive outlook on life makes all the difference. When it comes down to enjoying the day-to-day, it really is all about the attitude that a person takes towards their life, the people in it, the responsibilities we all have and knowledge that tomorrow is a new day.
Put a smile on your face, take a deep breath and keep going. I promise it will get better :)

Seems Crazy

Doesn't it seem a little crazy that one of the most exciting products of my play seems to be the masking tape that I peel away after finishing a collage. There is something that I LOVE about these strips of spontaneous printing that makes me want to find a serious use for them. Still thinking.....

I'm my own worst critic when it comes to my artwork - as most of us are. Just got my Baby Lock quilting machine back in action after a few years off. I'm starting over and it looks like it. Free-motion embroidery is something that you have to keep at in order to get better. We will see if I can take this in a better direction with some hand stitching.
Still searching for my voice - hope I find it soon.
