Studio Sunday and Dahlia Flower Stencil

Happy New Year!  I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year!  I went out on New Year's Eve for the first time in probably 20 years!  Still home before midnight LOL

After spending a super-creative day with Barbara from Joggles.com, I woke this morning at 4:30 and couldn't stop thinking about building and cutting this 11" Dahlia stencil.  By the time I got out of bed around 8:00, I knew exactly how I wanted to create it and got it designed and cut within an hour.

I'm still working with the same watercolors that are currently in my palette and I need to mix up some new ones but this combination is so soft and soothing.  I was given a sample of the Peerless watercolors which contain explosive color and you can see that intensity in the magenta.  I love those!!!

Of course I am loving the watercolor effects with the stencils and I'm hooked so you will see a lot more of this technique for sure.  Sometimes I cut stencils on heavy card stock instead of acetate and this one is on black card stock because it was the only 12" size I had but you can see the flower design very clearly.

It was fun to dream up and even more fun to use!!!  I've got to direct my creative juices to a project that I am working on that I can't wait to share with you!!!  Soon!!!!

Have a super creative Sunday and ease yourself in to 2016!!

Soft and beautiful, that is for sure! I can't wait to use my stencils, on the "hot bucket list" for 2016, and
I look forward to seeing more of THIS BEAUTY, too!! Happy New Year my friend!
