Studio Sunday and April Giveaway!

April 1st - WOW.  How did we get here already?  It's really scary how fast time flies these days!  I've been busy working on the workshop videos and setting up the site and I'm getting really excited about it and can't wait to get it up and running.  I guess my March deadline has passed but I know the launch date is nearing!

APRIL GIVEAWAY!!!

I'm excited about this new giveaway as it is all about making marks on paper (useful for the upcoming workshop, hint hint)!

6" x 6" Gelli Printing Plate

a pad of Strathmore Watercolor paper
and a variety pack of  paint brushes!

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL

You also win a FREE Creating Personal Imagery 101 Workshop!!!!

How can you win this FREE GIVEAWAY????  Ok, I figured I would create more of a challenge for this giveaway and this is how it will work.  Comment on this blog posting by April 15th at midnight EST.  Your comment must contain a word and its definition (in a dictionary-like listing) that really means something to you.  Of course, you need to tell me why it means something to you or why it is one of your favorites.  On April 16th, I will select my 3 favorites, provide my explanation of why I chose them and put all 3 names in a hat and pull the lucky winner!!!  Come play and spread the word!

Oh, I would love to win your workshop!

my word is below. I love it for two reasons: the word itself sounds and looks beautiful, and the definition suits me to a T.

capricious: Impulsive and unpredictable; determined by chance, impulse, or whim

I love the word "serendipity". The accident of finding something good or useful without looking for it. I think life is full of serendipities. :)

I love the word 'ampersand' - a logogram representing the conjunction word "and"
It's just a good word and I love the shape of the &

This is great! I've been collecting words in my sketchbook.
Susurration-a soft murmur; whisper
I've heard it used describing "the susurration of the waves on the beach". I love it!

Whoops, I forgot to say why I like the word susurration. I read it and loved the sound of it. I had to look it up though. Since the beach and the water are my 'peaceful' places, it has stayed with me.

I forgot to tell you why I love my word also. I love the sound of it and I love the idea of it. :)
A fun challenge, Margaret. My word: INCANDESCENT: glowing, luminous, bright, radiant; characterized by glowing zeal... which is how I feel about your screens, why I love using color, and free motion quilting together. It makes me incandescently happy! (yes, a Jane Austen fan also)

a couple of good words have already been chosen. So I'll pick arabesque. It can mean fantastic but it also is "decoration in colour or low relief, with fanciful intertwining of leaves, scroll work, etc." I'm looking for a certain look and this may be somewhat descriptive of the direction I am creatively headed for.

My favourite word is 'desultory' - adj. Marked by absence of a plan; disconnected; jumping from one thing to another.

I even have it pinned on my cork board. It's how I feel when I can't seem to get something done. I will have multiple things going on and jump around anr really accomplish nothing

Margaret, I love your work!
My word is learning: acquiring new, or modifying existing, knowledge, behaviors, skills, values, or preferences and may involve synthesizing different types of information.

I love learning new knowledge and combining it with what I already know. Once I stop learning, its over for me.

My word is 'ineffable' - 1)incapable if being expressed in words, 2) unspeakable, 3) not to be uttered.

I first heard this word many years ago in college, and I like this word because it points to the concept of mystery, of something of the spirit. For me it can also be used to refer to beauty - in the natural world - something so grand and glorious that it can't really be described adequately. I believe this kind of beauty can only come from God and His creation!

Whether I win or not, I would like to learn more about your on-line class.

My word is lagomorph. It means any member of the order Lagomorpha. Those would be the hares, rabbits, and pikas. These are animals similar to rodents, but that have two pairs of upper incisors. Why? Well, it's fun to say. And, around this house, everything is all about the rabbit. Just ask my jealous kids!

I love your work, and the way you share in your blog. It would be very exciting to win your class.

My word is possibilities. I have a love/hate relationship with it. At times it excites me and at other times it can stymie me. However, it is always it always offers solutions.
kerfuffle - to put into disorder or disarray; commotion; agitation.

I just love how this word rolls off the tongue and it makes the meaning seem less intense.

My favorite word is ubiquitous ~ seeming to be everywhere at the same time. I believe that applies to art which can be found all around us.
Enjoy your blog.

Hiya Margaret! I like "illumination". Learning, lighting up,understanding, teaching, the goal of each one of us while we travel the earth plane, to know and understand who and what we are.
